Biography
- Hong Ying is an author
- She began writing at 18
- She studied in Beijing at Lu Xun Academy and Shanghai's Fudan University
- Moved to London in 1991 and moved back to Beijing 9 years later
Her Work
- Her more popular English novels include, K: The Art of Love, Summer of Betrayal, and her autobiography Daughter Of The River.
- Her work has been published in 20 languages while appearing on the best seller list of many countries a great number of times.
- Many of her books have been turned into tv shows and movies while some are still in the process.
- She likes her work to focus on, human stories, hardship, and history.
- She is passionate about social neglected groups such as homosexuality in China
- Hong Ying believes as a writer it is with her duty to explore the lives of these groups.
- Ying also has published a collection of children books: Mimidola: The River Child, The French Fort and The New Moon Rise.
Personal Life
- Ying is married to business man/banker turned writer Adam Williams.
- Ying and Williams have been married since 2009
- Sybil is an only child to Hong Ying
- They live in London and Le Marche, Italy
