The Agricultural Revolution happened around 10 000BC, this is where a lot of technology from today has evolved from. Equipment such as the Plow and Sickle were used earlier on in the Agricultural Revolution. This was 12 000 years ago and this has made a huge impact on how we live and provide food for our communities.
PLow vs now
One example of a way Agriculture and time has benefited our lives is the Plow, the Plow (Plough) is a known as one of the most important agricultural machines in history. This implement is used to break up and turn over soil to bury seeds. It also is used for weed control. The original plow was made up of wood or steel and was manually pushed around by either oxen, horses or people. Nowadays this machine is motorized and can turn over far more soil than the original design. This has helped save time and money, it has made our lives all more efficient for crops.
Combine HArvester vs sickle
Have you ever wondered how large amounts of corn or crops are harvested? The sickle is a tool used to harvest small amounts of corn, this implement can be dated way back from the Neolithic Era. In 1835 life in agriculture became one step easier when Hiram Moore invented the Combine Harvester, this machine is used to collect large amounts of crops.
Conclusion
I am happy that nowadays we have the technology to produce large amounts of food such as plants and meats to provide for our communities. I think it would be a nice and educating hobby to try and build and grow my own mini garden. In conclusion I really think that our lives have become much more efficient since the Agricultural age, and I am really thankful for having the technology we have today that we can produce these amazing amounts of food for large groups of people.
